Ukraїner International is part of the Ukraїner media outlet, founded in 2016 with a mission to foster an open, democratic society by sharing traditions, human stories, historical and cultural heritage. Ukraїner was created to inform both global and local audiences about the transformations happening in Ukraine, while building a multimedia chronicle of the country’s living history.
Ukraїner was the first initiative to bring Ukraine’s story to a global audience. What began as a small volunteer team has grown into a separate branch of Ukraїner International with its editorial and operational teams. No other institution has taken on the role of multilingual broadcasting focused on Ukraine, making Ukraїner International the leading media outlet of its kind worldwide. It remains a non-profit organisation, reaching a global audience by producing content in multiple languages, including English, Polish, Czech, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, and more.
Our flagship project before the full-scale war, this initiative resulted in hundreds of videos, articles, and photographs capturing life across every corner of Ukraine, published in over 10 languages. It sparked a renewed interest in Ukrainian culture, identity, and the need for decolonisation. The expeditions also inspired our first full-length movie and two books, Ukrainer Insider and Ukrainer Insider-2, which have been published in multiple languages in Ukraine, the UK, Germany, and Japan.

This groundbreaking journalistic research explores Ukraine's national communities and indigenous nations on an unprecedented scale, combining documentary series, journalistic reports and photos. The project supported the enforcement of laws protecting these groups and is available in several languages. It also encouraged us to publish a book Who We Are? that has been sold both in Ukrainian and English.
A powerful series of video explainers and interviews with Holodomor survivors, available in multiple languages on our website, Youtube and social media. During filming, our team uncovered previously unknown mass graves, shedding new light on this tragic chapter of Ukrainian history. This project covered millions of people worldwide and is still used as a source to recognise the Holodomor as a genocide of Ukrainian nation worldwide.
This project documents 2022-2023 expeditions to liberated territories, highlighting Russian war crimes, Ukrainian resistance, and the resilience of local communities. The series is available in English and Polish on Youtube and in Czech, Spanish, French, German, and Japanese on social media. It also led to the book Deoccupation: Stories of Ukrainian Resistance in 2022, which is currently being translated into English.
A series of video interviews in English and French featuring experts across various fields, offering diverse perspectives on Ukraine. Our guests included Peter Pomerantsev, John Sweeney, Nolan Peterson, Henry Marsh and many others.
In 2023, the world — and Europe in particular — began to show signs of war fatigue in response to Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine. This war fatigue was highly dangerous, as it risked causing even Ukraine’s most reliable partners to lose interest in providing support. In response, we launched the Don't Forget About the War project to inform EU societies that Ukraine was acting as a shield for all of Europe, fighting to defend European values. We published over 300 short videos in social media in English, French, Spanish, German and Czech and reached over 4 mln people worldwide.
With the outbreak of the full-scale war, there was a growing demand from foreign publishers for comprehensive books about Ukraine. As a result, adapted translations of our books were published in the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and Czechia. We remain open to collaboration regarding the purchase of rights to our publications.
