A nominal historic region in western Ukraine, which unites Lemkivshchyna, Boykivshchyna and Hutsulshchyna - the habitats of mountain ethnic groups of Ukrainians. Here are the highest mountain ranges in Ukraine, a large number of reserves, nature and landscape parks, popular tourist routes, ski and balneological resorts. The Carpathians are a place where many authentic crafts are preserved. Here, local people bake cheese and bread according to original recipes, sew traditional clothing and make musical instruments.

Tomnatyk. “Pamir” Radar

5 white domes are hiding in Bukovyna Carpathians. They were providing control over air border of the USSR. The remains of the station with code name "Pamir" are still crowning the top of Tomnatyk mountain on the border with Romania.

The Carpathian narrow gauge train
