The region in southern Ukraine extending along the northern Black Sea coast. This is the land of steppes and forests, rocks, estuaries, floodplains, sand spits in the Dunai and Dnister rivers. Numerous boats and kayaks are produced here, while many yacht clubs operate, organizing various rafting competitions. The remains of a large Greek colony, Olbia, have been preserved near the village of Parutyne. Famous among tourists are the Aktiv Canyon Nature Complex, the Buh Guard Park, the Tiligul Estuary, and its ornithological reserves.
